“IDEAL GRP was formed in a merger of three companies a year ago. The new company serves its customers in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Baltics covering a full portfolio of services and solutions to help industrial and manufacturing companies to leverage the product and asset data, design and implement product lifecycle related processes (PLM) and optimize manufacturing operations management (MOM) to thrive in the hyperconnected world. Industry 4.0 is placing us at the heart of serving our customers in the rapid change every industrial company is now facing”, says Terho Valtonen, Chairman of the board of IDEAL GRP.

IDEAL GRP employs over 100 people and the company is entering the next growth phase where data-driven business and end-to-end process capabilities are the key. The company has a unique Nordic-Baltic partnership with a global software vendor Siemens.

“After the merger, we formed a professional board of directors, with senior external members joining such as Chairman of the board of Nordea Funds Jukka Perttula, globally well-known PLM industry executive Bill Gascoigne and a manufacturing industry expert Thomas Persson with background from Toyota and Scania. A logical next step for us is the appointment of a new CEO to complete the building of a strong foundation for the company. To have an experienced professional such as Jaakko leading the company for the next phase of growth and scaling up is a wonderful opportunity for us”, Valtonen adds.

Hartikainen has a strong track-record of transforming and scaling businesses for rapid growth. He joins IDEAL GRP from TietoEVRY where he has been heading the global Customer Experience growth business of over 700 employees for the past 4 years and before that served as a CEO of Smilehouse.

“I’m highly excited about the opportunity to join IDEAL GRP. The company is built on strong in-depth industry and technology know-how formed over the years of close co-operation with our customers. There is an amazing opportunity to unlock the full potential of this company by serving our customers with an even wider portfolio of solutions and services required for the transformation driven by the utilization of data. All this we will do with an agile and people-first culture building adaptiveness and resilience as well as world-class innovation capability. The biggest asset of this company are the amazing people” says Jaakko Hartikainen.

“One of the key selection criterion for the new CEO was strong hands-on expertise and vision for building agile, people-first culture, leadership, and organization. Jaakko’s well-known expertise and experience in this area convinced us all. We see this is as one of the key ingredients of building any highly successful expert organization positioned for the future” Valtonen continues.

The former CEO Juha Takkunen will continue in the company as a member of the group leadership team working closely with key customers, business operations, and quality development initiatives.

“I’d like to use the opportunity to say thank you to Juha for leading the company successfully for the past 4 years as well as completing the merger and enabling us to have the position we have today. It’s great that our journey continues together”, Valtonen concludes.

IDEAL GRP was formed in November 2019 from a merger of three companies: Ideal Product Data Oy, Summ-Systems Ab and Pro-STEP OÜ. Net Sales of the company is close to 20 M€ and the company has set high goals for growth. Some of IDEAL GRP’s customers include Sandvik, Metso Outotec, Konecranes, Tomra, Planmeca, Polar Electro, LEGO, Tooltec, Midroc-LKN, Swisslog and Laerdal.
